Bubble Pond, nestled in the heart of Acadia National Park, is a tranquil and picturesque gem surrounded by lush forest and rugged terrain. This serene pond is framed by the striking contours of the Bubble Mountains, which lend a dramatic backdrop to its clear, reflective waters. Popular for its peaceful ambiance, Bubble Pond offers a perfect spot for a stroll or a relaxing picnic. The gentle trail leading to the pond is accessible to most visitors, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a serene escape into nature without the need for strenuous hiking.
Accessing Bubble Pond in Acadia National Park
Starting Location: Bubble Pond Carriage Road Trailhead, Bar Harbor, ME

To access Bubble Pond in Acadia National Park, start by taking the Park Loop Road northeast of Jordan Pond. Park at the Bubble Pond parking area, located near the junction of Park Loop Road and Route 233. From the parking lot, you’ll find well-marked trails leading to Bubble Pond. The walk to the pond is relatively short and gentle, making it accessible for hikers of all skill levels.
Please note that as of this writing the small parking lot will be closed to private vehicles from about June 21-October 8. During this time you will need to use the Island Explorer Shuttle Bus to access Bubble Pond. There are several beautiful photography locations along the shoreline of Bubble Pond. If you walk to the pond from the parking lot and turn left (north), you will encounter Bubble Brook. This brook cascades down towards Eagle Lake and is a beautiful photography location. (Acadia Magic) Early morning is a great time to visit Bubble Pond and the surrounding area.

No matter where you stop, Acadia National Park provides amazing landscape photography opportunities. Be sure to take your time and find your favorite location along the way. If you are lucky, you may even spot some wildlife! Don’t forget to add detailed macro shots, change your perspective, and most importantly have fun.
