Jordan Pond, in Acadia National Park, is a popular location. There are public restrooms, the Jordan Pond House Restaurant, hiking trails, and great areas to lay down a picnic blanket. Photographically, Jordan Pond offers a nice reflection of Acadia’s famous Bubbles mountains. The Jordan Pond Path goes the entire way around Jordan Pond with multiple vantage points for photos.
Accessing Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park
Starting Location: Jordan Pond House Parking Lot, Park Loop Rd, Seal Harbor, ME

In order to access Jordan Pond, you will want to park at the Jordan Pond House Parking Lot on Park Loop Road. Go early if you want to find parking, as it fills up quickly. If you are unable to find parking, you can also access Jordan Pond using Acadia’s free Island Explorer shuttle bus. Take the #5 shuttle bus to Jordan Pond from the Village Green in Bar Harbor or the Hulls Cove Visitor Center. This shuttle bus runs from mid-June to mid-October.
While this is an easy hiking trail with boardwalks and sandy sections, there are a few rocky sections that you need to be aware of if you decide to do the entire loop. If you want a longer hike, you can also access the North and South Bubble hikes from Jordan Pond.

No matter where you stop, Acadia National Park provides amazing landscape photography opportunities. Be sure to take your time and find your favorite location along the way. If you are lucky, you may even spot some wildlife! Don’t forget to add detailed macro shots, change your perspective, and most importantly have fun.
