The trail is a great fit for those seeking both a physical challenge and amazing vistas in Acadia National Park.
Accessing the Beehive Loop Trail in Acadia National Park
Starting Location: Sand Beach Parking Lot, Bar Harbor, ME

The Beehive Loop Trail is accessible from the Bowl Trail. You can park at the Sand Beach parking lot, cross the street using the crosswalk, and then start the Bowl Trail. After .2 mi (.3 km), the path will intersect with the Beehive Trail. This strenuous loop trail includes granite cliffs with ladder rungs that you will need to ascend. The terrain will necessitate taking minimal camera equipment with you.
A single, small hiking backpack for your gear is recommended so that you can use both of your hands. Although this is a hard hike, the vistas are beautiful. It is not recommended to hike this trail during wet conditions as it becomes extremely hazardous. You can check out the NPS site for more hiking instructions.
